B&H rearing rings

The practical breeding rings for fish breeding are becoming increasingly popular with more and more ornamental fish breeders – some may know the principle under the term breeding box. The advantage of the breeding ring is that it can float freely in the aquarium or be attached.

If a rearing ring is used in the aquarium, the fry or larvae can remain in the parent tank. There is no stressful transfer of the fry and the young fish are not exposed to any changes in the water values. Nevertheless, the adult fish cannot stalk their offspring. In the rearing ring, the fry can be fed in a targeted manner without risking a deterioration in the water values.

The rearing ring consists of a thick, short Plexiglas tube fitted with a floating ring. There is replaceable screen printing mesh at the bottom, which enables water exchange. The buoyancy is so strong that even clay tubes, caves and other hiding places for the fish can be used in the rearing ring.

As with our air lifters, the individual parts of the rearing rings are not glued together. Even the screen printing mesh is attached with an attachable plastic ring. This makes the rearing rings particularly easy and effective to clean.

For our standard version, we use 153 µm screen printing mesh so that even freshly hatched Artemia pupae cannot be flushed out of the rearing ring. This gauze can be easily exchanged at any time and replaced if soiled. The insert can also be ordered in a slightly coarser screen thickness of 297 µm.
